Flamstead Book Festival

The very popular and highly successful annual Scarecrow Festival will be held one week earlier than normal in 2017. The scarecrows will be on display and voting forms will be available from mid day on Friday. In addition to the scarecrows there will be lots of other things to see and do.

Started in 2002 as a means of raising money for the upkeep of the Village Church and the Herts Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre the festival has gone from strength to strength. Every year so far there have been over 90 scarecrows on display and many people now look forward to the annual event. The last few years over 5,000 people have visited the village each year.

Dates and times Friday 11th July to Sunday 13th August 2017.
The scarecrows will be on display and voting forms will be available from mid day on Friday.

Viewing/voting times are as follows:
Friday 12pm - 5pm
Saturday 10am - 5pm
Sunday 10:30am - 5pm
More details In addition to the scarecrows there will be lots of other things to see and do. The village pubs and shop as well as the Pavilion on the Recreational Ground will be open over the weekend selling a range of food and drinks.

The village hall will be open selling teas and cakes. In addition there will be range of craft stalls in the hall and the village shop will be selling ice creams, cold drinks and sandwiches.
