Abbey View Golf Course at Westminster Lodge offers a challenging 9 hole course. Alternatively, one of the best 18-hole municipal courses in the country can be found at Batchwood Golf and Tennis Centre where even the most experienced golfers can be tested. There are various private clubs in the district including Verulam Golf Club and Redbourn Golf Club which also has its own golf range. Below is contact information for various golf courses around the district.

Abbey View All members of the public are welcome at Abbey View, which is operated on a pay and play basis and open all year round. A highly regarded fine 9 hole golf course with some beautiful views. The course is aimed at the young, the short of time, the beginner or those looking to tighten up their short game.

Aldwickbury Park Golf Club Welcomes visitors all-year round 7 days a week on a pay and play basis on both courses. Aldwickbury Park Golf Club boasts two magnificent Ken Brown designed golf courses: An 18 hole Championship course and a 9 hole par 3 course.

Batchwood Golf and Tennis Centre One of the best 18-hole municipal courses in the country can be found at Batchwood Golf and Tennis Centre. A well established 18 hole parkland golf course with practice area and large putting green. With its parkland setting and generous fairways it will test golfers of all abilities.

Centurion Club The private Centurion Club is located near St Albans and features what will become a world-renowned golf course designed by acclaimed international course architect, Simon Gidman. The challenging course layout, which meanders over spectacular topography, features some 80 bunkers, four major water features and undulating bent grass greens.

Harpenden Common Golf Club Visitors welcome throughout the week but must show a valid handicap certificate before playing. The course is challenging from all the tees and has lush, well-manicured fairways. The greens will need careful reading as they will provide a good test of your putting ability.

Redbourn Golf Club and Driving Range Open to all adults and juniors aged between 8-17. ‘No handicap required’ but some previous experience on an 18 holes course is required. There are two golf courses at Redbourn Golf Club, providing two completely different golf experiences: The Ver, an 18 hole main course and The Kinsbourne, a 9 hole Par 3.

Verulam Golf Club Visiting golfers are always welcome to come and play at Verulam. Please book a tee time. A mature course renowned for its small, fast and undulating greens. Par 72 course designed by James Braid in 1905, and home of the Ryder Cup. Samuel Ryder, a wealthy St Albans seed merchant, Captain of the Club and prolific supporter of early professional golf, donated the Ryder Cup in 1926.
