Ashridge Estate

This magnificent and varied estate runs across the borders of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, along the main ridge of the Chiltern Hills. There are woodlands, commons and chalk downland supporting a variety of wildlife and offering splendid walks through outstanding scenery.

Ashridge Estate is a 2,000 hectare (5,000 acres) area of the Chilterns Hills. The estate has beech and oak woodlands, commons and chalk downlands. The focal point of the area is the Bridgewater Monument, erected in 1832 in memory of the Duke of Bridgewater. The Visitor Centre next to the Monument has a National Trust Gift Shop, Tea Room and Discovery Room. There is a programme of guided walks and events. Powered Mobility vehicles available March - October (pre booking advisable).

Prices Access to the Estate is free. Donations welcome.
