There are 12 categories in total; 11 are decided by public vote along with scrutiny of a judging panel and one is a special award decided by the steering group.

The Awards Process

Nominations were held earlier in 2016: all eligible businesses (nominated in a relevant category and trading in the District) were included in a public vote. Voting was open for six weeks from 13 July to 31 August. The top three in each category were moderated by the Food & Drink Festival Steering Committee who considered:
• Food Hygiene ratings
• Service
• Atmosphere
• Quality
• And of course the product, be it food, drink, etc

have now gone to the Steering Group to be moderated and will be announced at the Awards dinner on 3 October. The full shortlist is on the Herts Ad website
