On most Saturdays and Sundays, the story of the Roman Town of Verulamium comes to life through gallery talks by St Albans Tour Guides on a variety of topics.

The Museum of everyday life in Roman Britain. Verulamium Museum is on the site of one of the major cities in Roman Britain, now an attractive park. Inside you will find: recreated Roman rooms, hands-on Discovery Areas, video presentations, touch screen databases and some of the finest Roman mosaics and wall plasters outside the Mediterranean.

Verulamium Museum will be closed to the public for essential maintenance for two weeks from Monday 17th July - Friday 28th July 2017. You can still learn about our Roman past at the Hypocaust (Roman mosaic) and at the Roman Theatre across the road. They will be moving the museum outside into the park on Thursday 27th July for Venture into Verulamium, so join them for all the fun.

Gallery talks On most Saturdays and Sundays at 15:00 the story of the Roman Town of Verulamium comes to life in the talks which include: Mosaics; Iron Age; Domestic Life; Leisure; Food and Drink; Trading in the Empire; Gods and Goddesses; Death and Burial; House in the Park; Life and Times of Alban.
Talks for groups In addition to the events listed we offer talks for local groups. Topics include historic St Albans, Roman coins and local archaeology. The standard speaker's fee is from £50. Contact the museum for more information.
